Darien Police Chief Jeremiah P. Marron Jr. announced on Tuesday, April 30, the following promotions:
- Lt. Andrew Mastroianni was promoted to the rank of captain, effective Sunday, May 5. Mastroianni has been with the department for 19 years and currently serves in the Training Division.
- Detective Sgt. Daniel Skoumbros was promoted to lieutenant, effective Sunday, May 5. Skoumbros has been with the department for 20 years and currently serves in the Detective Division.
- Officer James Martin was promoted to the rank of sergeant, effective Sunday, May 5. Martin has been with the department for 20 years and currently serves in the Field Services Division.
"These promotions reflect the hard work, dedication and the level of commitment these three officers have to the Darien Police Department," Marron said. "I would like to commend Captain Mastroianni, Lieutenant Skoumbros, and Sergeant Martin as they advance their careers within our agency and wish them the best of luck in their new roles.
"These promotions signify not only personal achievement but also the Police Commission’s and the department's confidence in their leadership abilities."
Marron also congratulated all the candidates involved in the promotional processes.
"You all should be proud of your efforts, and I thank you for that," Marron said.
A formal promotional ceremony will be held soon for the three officers and recently promoted Sgt. Bryan Wallman.
